Wednesday Septembe 10, 2K8

Packed up out gear and headed out to one last island....Isle au Haut. Pronounced "I'll-a-Ho". It is has a tiny village and Duck Island, part of the National Park is there. The only way in is by boat. Abpoy 80 people live there and they depend on the mail boat which makes two trips a day for supplies. We took the boat over and we accompied a pile of wood for construction, two rose bushes and a huge green box of supplies for the only general store in town.
Explored Stonington while waiting for the boat. Hiked a glacier trail and an old quarry. This quarry claim to fame is it where the stone came from for JFK grave. All very interesting and the boat trip was awesome.
Boat docked back in Stonington around 6 PM and headed toward home. Spent the night just outside Camden, Maine.
